New Industrial Revolution – Industry 4.0

November 2016

We have recently been engaged by a consortium of the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University and Sci Tech Daresbury to complete the economic and business case for £4m of additional funding support in regard to LCR (Liverpool City Region) 4.0.

This transformational project aims to revolutionise modern manufacturing, by connecting intelligent machines via the internet to manage production, including bespoke manufacturing products and improved factory processes.

Funding is now awarded and supports a dedicated team to work with SMEs in regard to their novel concepts such as new applications for the market or bespoke programs for their own manufacturing processes. The joint research and development programmes, involves imparting knowledge through prototyping to the point where a new product can be commercialised.

The project accords with the sub region’s aims in stimulating sustainable economic growth, creating high value jobs and increasing GVA per worker.
